In addition to being a reliable and trustworthy company, Covenant Cleaning Services cares about the environment. We have integrated several environmentally friendly products into our cleaning line-up. We have also reduced our paper waste by switching from paper towels to reusable micro-fiber cloths. Not only do our reusable cloths reduce waste, they are safe to use on all surfaces and reduce cross-contamination.

We Are More Than a Cleaning Company

Covenant Cleaning Services strives to make a positive impact within our community by more than the services and jobs we provide but also through serving others. We are proud to support Cleaning for a Reason and Victim Service Center of Central Florida.

Covenant Cleaning Services was started in 1999 by the current owner and President, Shelley Y. Powell. Shelley is native to Orlando and still lives in the community that she grew up in. Her community history includes her parents who also grew up and attended the same schools as she did. Shelley is married to Stuart Powell, who is also native to Orlando, and they attended Boone High School together. They have 2 children, a set of extras, and 7 grandchildren who call them Mimi and Pop.

Shelley’s work history started in banking, then accounting, but since being young, she has always been an entrepreneur at heart with small businesses at every juncture. When starting Covenant Cleaning, it was like the trifecta with the opportunity to do what she loves, cleaning, providing jobs, and coaching (managing) others. Of the three, providing jobs for people who want to work has proven to give the greatest satisfaction of all. Shelley is also the owner of the Conway Village Barber Shop since 2017 which is touted as the 2nd oldest operating barber shop in Orlando.

Team members are very important and having the right ones is critical not only for our success but even more so for the client. We recruit only the best and work hard to train, communicate, and continue to foster relationships with our team members so they know that they are more than “just an employee”. She is there every step of the way and is visible to her teams. Personal property checks and working with her teams is not uncommon for her. Core values include teamwork, great work ethic, and good common sense. Honesty and integrity are the foundation for success as nothing should change those.

Growing up in Orlando, community was very important. Shelley contributes by serving on the board of the South Orange Chamber, providing in kind services for the Victim Service Center and being a sponsor of the local Conway Community Market. Covenant Cleaning Services has partnered with Cleaning for a Reason since it began in 2006 where cleaning services are donated for people with cancer. Serving the community means so much when you have grown up here.
